Unable to start Apache

Some weird error shows up today when trying to start the Apache services at one of the Centos server. The command “service httpd start” executed without any errors but there’s no apache processes running at the server backend. However, apache error logs have the following logged:

Configuration Failed

Though the error logged at Apache error log shows there’s not enough space, the disk partition have plenty of rooms available. The apache may have not been restarted properly and some semaphore array has been left reside in the memory. To kill the processes, execute the following ( assuming the apache is running as ‘nobody’ user):

[root@localhost logs]# ipcs -s | grep nobody | perl -e ‘while () { @a=split(/\s+/); print `ipcrm sem $a[1]`}’

and you should see tones of “resource(s) deleted” output shows up as soon as you hit the enter. Try restarting your apache now and it should be coming up nicely now.
